The Lookies: Press

Crank that volume to 11, hold on tight and get ready to rock out, cause the new self-titled EP is out from The Lookies. A mix between Black Flag and Queens of the Stone Age, the as-yet-unsigned Lookies are so heavy and so tight that one can only hope some punk-ass A&R rep will grow some 'nads and throw down his Platinum AMEX to let this band loose in the studio to do a full-length album. led by Punk Rock hall of fame drummer "The Rummager" (Velvet Monkeys, Gumball, Dinosaur jr.) this Harrisburg Pa. based quartet knows how to rock hard-real hard. The opener, "Sink or Swim", nearly snapped my neck, and my ears were bleeding by the end of the second track "Time". The onslaught continues with "Ugly Things" and the rapid fire "Don't Care" but be forewarned; this is not for the meek, or easily scared. 3 Kidneys (highest rating allowed for an EP) and an extra kidney for kick-ass Cd artwork.
In the wake of LOOKIES performances --
--Dumbstruck guys stand jealous with hurt feelings in awe of the total
rock prowess that IS THE LOOKIES!
--Swooning girls are leaving their boyfriends and husbands behind in hot

pursuit of cocksure swagger and the promise of a better time than
they'll EVER hope to have with the erectily-dysfunctional slob they came

to the show with.

That's what tends to happen when THE LOOKIES lay down the rock 'n roll
law!

'Don't Care' - From the 2005 self-titled 5 song EP. as heard on The BIG Show. The band claims to rock real hard. I submit this track as strong evidence to the fact that they do indeed rock real hard. High energy guitar driven rock with a great chant along chorus. Be sure to check out the other tracks available as well. (Esp. 'Ugly Things' !)
I dig what you guys are doing.
I'm a sucker for sleazy fuzzed out big muff guitar leads.
